    “Best Family Weekend”

My experience at Kwantu was absolutely amazing! Upon arrival, we were given delicious snacks and a full itinerary for our stay. The staff were friendly and always happy to help. My family and I stayed at Pollards Inn, personally, I think it’s best to stay at Pollards Inn if you’re a family. Make sure to pack warm clothes if you’re going in winter, even though Kwantu provides beautiful fireplaces in most lounges. The food at Kwantu was delicious and being an Indian family food wasn’t a hassle at all! The game drives were sooo refreshing and our guide, Innocent, was very sharp and with his help, we saw elephants, hippos, giraffe, zebra and many different kinds of a buck. We were also very lucky to see lion cubs feeding on a kill and one evening we saw a lion up close! Right at the gate! It was unforgettable! The animal rehabilitation center was such an awesome experience and Loyd, our guide told us so many interesting things about the animals they are rehabilitating. One thing my daughter loved about the center was that they had the skulls of the animals they kept in the reserve and she loved learning about the animals the skulls came from.

    “Game reserve with a difference!”

We visited in July 2017 after hearing many wonderful stories about Kwantu, all turned out to be true! The owner is very hands-on and approachable, the food was fantastic and the guide was extremely well versed! We received a warm welcome lunch and a huge roaring fire shortly after we arrived and then set off on a wonderful game drive. Our guide took us to the predators’ cages and introduced us to several big cats, he clearly knew his subject matter. The proper drive lasted just under two hours and we were very fortunate to see giraffe, elephant, a pride of lions with a recent kill, rhinos and several species of buck. We also had the added bonus of a family of highly animated vervet monkeys who had free reign of the grounds.
The reserve is deeply involved in educational programmes and prides itself on its care and knowledge of its wildlife.
The hotel, service, and rooms are worth every one of its five stars and the food was wholesome and unpretentious!
    A highly recommended experience!

    “Wonderful place with superb service!”

We were on our first ever South Africa trip and wanted to stay in Game reserve. On 4th March 2017 evening, when we reached Port Elizabeth Airport, we got picked up by Kwantu transfer service. This 6000-hectare game drive is easily accessible from the N2 highway towards Grahamstown. The lady at the reception welcomed us with a very friendly smile. Pollard’s inn was amazing. The room on the ground floor,(main building) was quite spacious, with a very good scenic view from the balcony. Thanks for the complimentary fruits, snacks, and cool drinks. The staff was very friendly. Hats off to the chef. We are vegetarians and he took special
efforts and gave us hot rice, dal fry, aloo mutter etc during our entire stay.
This is an alcohol-free game drive. The Game drive was excellent. We could see African Lion’s whole family with kids and lioness very closely. They were just lazing off in the early morning sun and could not be bothered by seeing us. Our Ranger was very knowledgeable and he explained us about different animals, their behaviour and about the place. We were lucky enough to find a Giraffe, a baby hippo, lots of Impalas, antelopes, wildebeests, Zebras and a variety of birds. We were unfortunate to see African elephants and Rhinos. Visit Predator and rehabilitation center was an interesting experience. We were thrilled by seeing our Royal Bengal Tiger there. we saw white Lion. We could hear Lion’s roar from our balcony.
Our stay at Kwantu was fantastic. Thank you very much Kwantu.
