    Eastern Cape Game Reserves

“Wonderful safari experience in a 5 star game reserve!”

We have just returned from a fantastic 2 day safari at the Hillsnek, a small game reserve.
The tent is beautiful and very comfortable (electric heating/blankets for these winter days), lovely and cosy communcal area for meals. Specific diets are well catered for and the food is excellent. The rangers are super friendly and passionate about sharing their knowledge. We had 4 drives and saw much more than expected: a real adventure! We came home still buzzing with excitement. Thank you Renzo, Meghan, Sebastian, Jaison and all the lovely cleaning and cooking ladies.

    “Fantastic visit”

Thanks to all the staff at HillsNek for a wonderful stay, food was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them.
Our guide Megan was very knowledgeable and managed to give us a very close up view of the lion pride on the last morning drive.
We were also joined by elephants drinking from the pool at breakfast, what more could you ask.

    “African adventure ”

This is the most extraordinary, special place. We had five-star service, the setting was just beautiful and the food exceptional.
It is a very intimate and relaxed place with stunning views. The luxury tents are comfortable, clean and luxurious. Our guide Megan was utterly brilliant – every tour with her was thrilling and a feast for eyes. They show complete respect for the animals and we learnt a huge amount.
We had such an adventure and something we will all remember for a lifetime. Thank you Hillsnek.
A must do. We will be back.

    “Very special place”

As Safari first timers, we thought HillsNek impossible to beat. The tents were large and luxurious, the food and service outstanding – absolutely everything thought of. With only eight guests, everything felt very personal. The Amakhala Reserve is compact but big enough for animals to roam and hide, and is very well managed. It has the “big five” but so much more too. Our guide, Sebastian, was an endless fount of knowledge, enthusiasm and incredible eyesight – spotting the lions from a moving vehicle at least a mile away. So many “wow” moments!
