The compact nature of the game reserve ensures that game-viewing is consistent. Day and night game drives will give guests plenty of opportunities to spot the Big 5, as well as giraffe, wildebeest, and zebra to name a few. The majestic Bushman’s River winds its way through the reserve and is ideal for boat cruises.
By combining the solid walls of a conventional room and the canvas drop blinds of a tent in front, the 11 safari suites are designed in a way that enhances both the luxury and rustic elements of the lodge. “An amazing experience”
My wife and I recently had a three night stay at the Amakhala Safari Lodge as part of our trip to South Africa and we find it to be one of the most amazing experiences of our lives. The accommodation is superb, the food wonderful and the wildlife viewing was simply awesome. The staff were all wonderful but we must single out Bulelani (Our butler) who was always helpful and cheery and Mnoni (Our ranger) who always found the animals and gave us a fund of stories from his experience. If I was ever to go back to South Africa then I would have no hesitation in going back to Amakhala Safari Lodge.~ Tonypembs ~ Penrith, United Kingdom
Wow, what a stunning place. We were so lucky enough to have stayed in lodge 3, overlooking the watering hole. The lodge was stunning, clean and more than we could have imagined. The facilities were amazing. The staff very attentive, friendly and helpful. Our safari guide Nonni (that’s how his name sounded but not sure about the spelling) was an amazing chap. He took us on several drives and fed us full of so much knowledge about all the wildlife we saw. It was a real pleasure to be with him. We would highly recommend this base to see and experience a safari and holiday of a lifetime. Thank you.~ Nigel C ~ Pool, United Kingdom
“A real bush experience”
From the moment we arrived the staff made you feel welcome. Our room was very luxurious and tastefully decorated. We had an outside shower and a small Roman Bath/Pool to dip in.Our guide was extremely knowledgeable in regards to the animals and also the birds and plants. We got really close to the animals on our game drives.
I would recommend this lodge and experience as it exceeded my expectations.I hope to return there sometime in the future.
“Wonderful experience a lifetime memory”
The lodge was amazing, absolute luxury. Our guide, Ngame was fantastic – great knowledge of the animals, the environment and the history – he really went the extra mile to make our safaris memorable. Groups were small and we saw so many animals. The staff were all attentive and friendly and the food fantastic. Getting to share the adventure with other guests added to the experience.~ annettef953 ~ Sydney, Australia
